Kiss an Angel
by Susan Elizabeth Phillips (Goodreads Author)
Seriously, how many brides have you heard, forgotten their husband-to-be's name??
Daisy had two choices. Being a bastard child, her father didn’t give her much. Either she marry this Russian studmuffin beside her, or go to prison?
After much contemplation, the Russian studmuffin, also known as Alexander Markov, would be a better choice, since her father wouldn’t deliberately put her in harm’s way.
But he did.
Now, Daisy is married to a manager of a CIRCUS. Take note, a circus manager. But that’s not it. Alex is also a circus performer, the whipping kind. But that’s not it yet, aside from the fact that the circus is a roving type thus she has to wake up before 6am everyday, she also has to perform and wear a skimpy costume.
At some point, you would think that the worse things in life would stop.
But no, they do not. They get more worse. Daisy gets framed for stealing a hundred bucks, and now she’s the circus outcast. She has to haul elephant manure as punishment. Then she has to be part of her husband’s whipping performance.
However, things might be worth it, if only, her husband would have love for her.
____
Don’t think that this book is a light one. Because it isn’t. This book made me cry like a baby and made me have an agonizing headache in the morning. But still, all was worth it. For it still managed to make me smile in the end.

I'm with Grain de Beaute here Jasmin, this one is magical and it is among my favorites too! I'll look forward for your comments.
5 stars, Jasmin? I've had this book on my TBR for more than a decade, but something about it "scares" me and I've never felt compelled to read it. I don't know what to do...
Dina you should try it. The reason i gave it 5, because I literally cried like a baby. as in buckets of tears. i don't know if its just me, but you should give it a try. for me it was kind of unique. I've never read a book w/ a circus setting :)
This was such an amazing book that it's in my top favorites. A must-read I dare say that gives you goosebumps with its bittersweet moments along with laughter. The circus theme gives the story a special feeling and definitely adds to it's uniqueness. My heart was pumping with thrill throughout the book wondering how the story will turn out in the end. Thanks for reminding me of this book Jasmin! :)
