really liked it
bookshelves: booze-broads-and-bullets
Read in April, 1993

I don't know how many other books I've had as much fun reading. You don't know it at first. You're being drawn in, everything is moving along steadily enough, and then BAM! Turow throws in a haymaker out of nowhere. Naturally enough, once that happens you're on to the next chapter. It seemed like every chapter I was like "after this one, I'm going to bed." At the end of every chapter, Turow made that impossible. On the other hand, because of the nature of the plot, and it's dependency on not knowing what happens next, I probably won't re-read it again and again. But that first time experience was a blast.
