Such a pleasure to read a beautifully-written story. The gracious, feminine style and the character-driven love story seem almost old-fashioned in contrast to the harsh, clever edges of much modern literary fiction. Stonich could blossom with the same grace as Ivan Doig, Wallace Stegner, Shirley Hazzard or Anita Shreve, who understand the shelter and shadows of marriage, and who know how to convey its complexities with clarity and humanity. Thanks for the reccie, Jeanette!

Julie :) So far, I like! It's very gentle and the writing is beautiful-feminine. Reminds me a bit of Anita Shreve.
