Jeffrey and I are hosting a summer book club for some of his recently graduated students. They decided to go with Jane Austen for the first book since Mr. Lawson loves her so much. We picked S&S instead of P&P because I am working my way though all the Janes and I've read P&P many times.

I'm actually listening to it on audiobook and loving it. I was so excited when I pulled it up and began because it is read by Donada Peters. She's one of my favorite recorded book readers. I know her from several Rosamund Pilcher books. I've spent this morning listening to Sense and Sensibility and editing photos. What a lovely way to spend a morning.

Five stars - for certain. This book was amazing. It's Jane at her snarkiest, funniest best. I think overall, I love the storyline of Pride and Prejudice best, but the wit and caustic comments of this book are unbeatable. I loved it!

I read it again this summer and loved it even more the third time.

Nancy I'm a huge Austen fan (although "Jane Eyre" will always trump any of Austen's works for me). My personal favorite Austen book is "Persuasion". Have you read it yet? Sadly, it was Austen's last book, but the theme of second chances really resonated with me.

Relyn Not yet, and I can't believe I haven't. I love P&P and Emma - no idea why I haven't read the other ones. Anyway, I put on my list of 39 things to do before I turn 40 to read every Jane Austen. So, that's what I'm doing. I basically have this summer. Once school starts, I don't accomplish much else.

Beth Bonini S&S is always worth a reread. Did you know that 2011 is the 200th anniversary of its publishing date?

Relyn I didn't know that. I love that you know that.
