This is a vampire urban fantasy with a CIA operative twist. I don't really like reading spy novels, but even though that's not my thing, I still found myself invested in the characters. I really liked Jaz and her boss/love interest vampire Vayl. I'm intrigued to see what happens between them down the road. This book was well written and won me over, despite my initial reluctance with the story. I recommend this one.

Premise: CIA top assassin (and vampire) Vayl requested Jaz as his apprentice. Now they are on assignment in Florida, but they soon discover they've been double crossed by someone highly placed in the government. Can they foil a terrorist plot before it's too late? Who's really on their side, anyway? And what new powers will Jaz acquire before the last page turns? Will Jaz start a romance with her boss? Read this book to find out.
