people interested in Tibet, China, Buddhism, international politics
Read in February, 2008
This book should be mandatory reading to all the Tibetophiles in the West. It punctures so many myths about Tibet, its history and politics. It is critical of the Dalai Lama, while being sympathetic to him. It is by no means apologetic of China's brutal rule in the land, but it helps to understand how things are not black and white.
