Read from March 01 to June 09, 2010 , read count: Once!

I think someone recommended this book to me, and parts of it were interesting indeed, but somehow it took me forever to finish it. I really liked his book "Train", but this one just dragged. I considered returning it to the library several times before I finished it, but I hate giving up on a book once I start. Over 450 pages, and in the end there was an eight page acknowledgements section. After reading that and looking at other books he wrote, I understood some of the sarcastic tone of his acknowlegements. And to think that as originally written it was 250 pages longer! If you believe the background of the author parts of this book were based on his own experiences, which is hard to comprehend that one could actually endure such pain, and be so self destructive.
