This is a bit of a wierd book (for me who does not love vampirish themes). A familiar characher, Eve Duncan, a forensic scupter, has a more miner role but he adopted daughter, Jane MacGuire, an artist, gets herself involved against the members of a secretive cult. A cult that has human sacrifices. Another familiar character, Seth Caleb is key to saving the day. He uses his very special mind-reading capabilities to control his opponents and even cause them to bleed to death from internal "explosions". He can also, for the romantically inclined, provide Jane with a sexual orgasm, even without touch! Way Out!!
Anyway everyone lives (except the bad guys) for another book.
