They always give Rosamunde Pilcher's books these horrid floral covers that make them look like the worst kind of cheap sentimental romance fiction (maybe it is her name, I don't know. I read several of her books when I was younger and always loved them, and this one was no exception. While her plots might not be the most original and a bit predictable, her characters are always vivid and carefully crafted and her settings (Cornwall, Scotland, London) are as much a part of the cast as the people. This book wasn't as good as the Shell Seekers, but it was a perfect relax and get away book that was just what I needed for a long flight.
