I just can't understand why I had never heard of M.T. Anderson or this novel before!

I would describe The Game of Sunken Places as being a weird mix between the Hunger Games, Jumanji, and The Greatest Game. Two boys go to visit an old, eccentric uncle who lives in the mountains and become entangled in a life-or-death game.

I really felt like every single character in this book was well-planned and very real. The dialogue was funny and there was definitely enough excitement. There were even a few plot twists that I didn't see coming.

This book will definitely be in my school library someday! I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it and I hope everyone who reads this will consider giving this book a try.
