I randomly picked this book up at the library after seeing it in a Cracker Barrel store on a road trip. I was curious about how much food one really could produce in a backyard and I have to say, I was quite impressed by the author's thorough plans. I've been attempting to garden for the last two years and I learned a ton from the gardening chapters that I wish I would've known before I started. I can't say I'll ever own a cow or grow wheat to make my own beer, but I am now considering a larger garden next year and maybe a fruit tree or two.
