"The ordinary-sized stuff which is our lives, the things people write poetry about—clouds—daffodils—waterfalls—what happens in a cup of coffee when the cream goes in—these things are full of mystery, as mysterious to us as the heavens were to the Greeks."

I give it four stars instead of five because of my general sense of confusion throughout the play. Bottom line: I get what happens in Arcadia---but I don't GET Arcadia. Stoppard's writing is fantastic and a delight to read; but at times, his philosophy and science are just on a different level. I want to know more, but he doesn't provide it (rightfully so). I loved the parallel stories and can only imagine how brilliant this drama translates onto the stage. A great intro to Stoppard; looking forward to reading more.
