Lake in the Clouds is Book 3 that follows the Bonner Family.

Hannah is now 18 and is becoming a healer like the other strong women in her family. She has taken on a new but very dangerous patient who is an escaped slave and she's trying to get her to safety with the help of her father Nathaniel and step mother Elizabeth.

Nathaniel and Elizabeth travel through the wilderness again, trying to get Selah, an escaped slave who is pregnant to Canada and freedom. It's a dangerous trek through the bush but Nathaniel and Elizabeth together can take on the world.

Hannah is gone to train in a hospital. Hannah being half Mohawk and white she's suprised by the opportunity that Richard Todd has put before her. She will be learning to provide vacines again small pox that just recently took many lives in Paradise including her 2 year brother Robbie. Life in the city, being a woman and Mohawk leads to many challenges for Hannah.

Lily and Daniel, Nathaniel and Elizabeth's twins are left home but not without their own adventures dealing with Jemima and Liam Kirby. Liam was Hannahs friend and first love who lived with the family for a little while but left when the family didn't return from their journey to rescue Nathaniel, Robbie and Dan'l from the jail in Montreal. Liam has become a bounty hunter and is searching for a runaway slave name Selah, which leads him back to his home of Paradise some years later. Jemima, tired of being being poor, has plans of her own which has repercussions for the entire town.

Another great addition to the Sara Donati seriels. The characters no matter how big or small, you are drawn to them and can't get enough. I'd be happy if this series never ened.
