Thomas Perry is a terrific writer. He is superb at fleshing out characters, pays attention to the physical setting, and usually has a main plot and several subplots that come together at the book's end. In Strip--think Las Vegas--the various characters meander about, the plot is just barely believable, and none of the characters are particularly memorable. Why in the world he brought in a bigamous cop and then failed to capitalize on the circumstances was a real weakness in my enjoyment of the book. Regardless, the wonderful writing made the book an enjoyable read.
