I'm not sure what I think yet about the screenplay format. Sometimes it worked quite well, and other times it seemed a bit jerky, and several of the fancy film techniques seemed unnecessary. The ending was also fairly predictable but I did like that it ended with incomplete closure. Something as harrowing as what Steve went through needs to resonate for longer, and Myers was successful in that endeavor. Really, it felt like a long version of a Law & Order episode, and the author touched upon many themes but his focus was unclear, and the lesson (if there was one) was not apparent. But I must give credit for the author's portrayal of life in jail. Empathizing with Steve in that regard was extremely real.
