** spoiler alert ** It was good to read the companion memoir to Autobiography of a Face by Lucy Grealy. A very different experience though. Patchett was a dear friend of Lucy's and that was not an easy task. Although the book was very clear about Grealy's self-centered emotional state and fall into drug addiction, every page was at the same time a testament to Patchett's love of this unique and talented young woman. A document to friendship at it's most fierce.
