Bryson mixes history, humor, travel and anecdotes in his Australian travelogue "In a Sunburned Country". His impression? It's a big and empty place full of things that can kill you ... and it's wonderful. Perhaps that explains why there is a notable lack of the whining that is characteristic of many of his other works.

One of Bryson's better books.
