Green was a heart-pounding finale to Dekker's Circle series. Having been a long-time fan, I felt like Dekker wove the different characters and plot lines together in an excellent way. By the end, you'll have some questions answered (and a few more questions opened up), but it's an apocalyptic journey that's definitely the darkest (perhaps overly so) of the main Circle books. My main tiff with Green is that Dekker's very flawed theology comes through more notably than in other books. Dekker presents a very dualistic theism and a man-centered universe in which Elyon seems far from sovereign, weeping over the fact that humanity is turning away from Him. He says that long ago He handed man the book to write his own story, and in the circular ending Elyon tells Thomas that He doesn't know what will happen, and the fate of humanity will depend on Thomas's own choices. It makes for apocalyptic cliffhangers, but if we apply this same theology to our lives, it's not only heavily disconcerting but notably unbiblical. With an informed mind, however, it's still worth the read.
