The only thing that keeps this from a 5 is a slow start. This book about an autistic boy who witnesses a murder is a fascinating character study. As it turns out, many autistic and/or learning disabled people populate the book, and they are all fully realized. The author does a great job of showing how people are seen from a variety of perspectives, and the denouement is suspenseful and yet credible. There are wonderful descriptive sequences in the book, as well, and a few laugh-out-loud moments. Book on CD.
