I loved this one. I wish I'd read this years ago. I think, having read the book, that the casting for the film was inspired. All of the characters are so spot on. I loved the humour in this. It's one of those books that can be read on many levels. It's cynical and innocent at one and the same time. One for the keeper shelf. :-)

Jemidar Isn't it great?! Glad you liked it :-).

Beadyjan I'll move this up my tbr pile, I've never seen the film so won't be able to compare, but love grown up fairy tales for a bit of escapism.
