What's not to like in a Carolyn Hart "Death on Demand" cozy mystery? The story takes place on fictional island Broward's Rock just off Hilton Head Island, South Carolina (one of my favorite places in the entire world) and Annie Darling owns a mystery bookstore where she is constantly dropping the names of mystery writers--some of whom I have discovered through this series. Having said that, I think that this is one of the weaker books in this series. The characters seem to have been a bit one-dimensional and stale and the island setting wasn't as evocative as in the previous books. However, I'm still a fan of Carolyn Hart and I'm hoping that she leaves her home in Oklahoma City so that I can run into her one day at Hilton Head and tell her that I'm eagerly awaiting her next adventure.
