Please see those stars as four and a half!

Is about a young girl whose mother has died, her father remarries, her stepmother has two daughters, her father dies and her stepmother makes her a servant.

Yes, this is Cinderella, but with some major interesting twists. Ash dances with the Prince at a ball but it’s the King’s Huntress Kaisa who she really wants. And in turn, she is wanted by the fairy Sidhean. Ash is consumed by grief, fed on fairy tales, cloaked in loneliness, solitude and death.

This book is marketed as a YA book, I suppose because the publishers want those girls who read Twilight and books like it to read this. I do too. This book has a young protagonist, the sex is offstage and only hinted at, there is no questionable language. The palpable grief and loneliness that Ash experiences may have more resonance with adults.
