it was amazing
bookshelves: fiction, historical-fiction, own-physical, ya, 55-before-i-die
Read from May 10 to 13, 2013

Oh my gosh. I am not too big on historical novels, but this one just grabbed my heart and held tight from the beginning. I absolutely LOVED the narrator (Death) and the experimental prose that punctuated the story. I mean. Brilliant. Oh, not to mention the absolutely tragic and beautiful story of Liesel, her foster family, and the friends she made — both in public and in secret. I adored the relationships in this book. All were so well developed and made me feel ALL the emotions! I really don’t know what else to say without either going on too long or spoiling the story.
