** spoiler alert ** I thought this was going to be the final novel in the series, but I guess it isn't. It ended well enough, and since she's retired now I can't see where it could go except that she Michael Jordan's her career. She and Trout were a crazy thing. That was actually a hot scene in his normally plain writing style. And I'm glad that Alex is finally dead dead. She was psycho and crazy and bizarre, etc etc. No matter what she had been through, I couldn't feel bad for her. I couldn't feel like she reasonably became that way. Also, she lied about her sibling link to Harry. Yikes. Anyway, I just want Jack to be happy and for everyone else to be alive and well.
