After enjoying Crane's other novels, I am disappointed my this sopomore effort. The protagonist is a weak doormat who believes that she needs to fake amnesia to get a life do-over. Granted, she gets a clue at the end and learns that all she has to do is speak up and things are different. Unfortunately, it takes around 300 pages for this revelation to take place.
She chooses Travis in the end...Really? I mean, come on. Her rationale for turning down Todd is so high school that I'm surprised that Crane managed to squeeze out some coherent ideas in a third novel. Sigh.
