I just listened to Hank the Cowdog on CD with my grandkids today. Now I know what everybody's talkin' about! If you haven't turned on to Hank yet, you're missing out. This is a very funny story where Hank is recruited by Beulah (another farm dog) to find her wandering bird-dog, Plato, and bring him home. And Drover, Hank's sidekick, has a problem chewing up stuff ... particularly plastic. I thought it was especially funny when the two dogs began discussing how "lady" dogs don't like "plastic chewing." It turns out that Hank has the tendency to chew plastic too, especially in a bone shortage. When they decided to quit chewing, it sorta of reminded me of guys who like to chew tobacco.

The audio book had country instrumental music playing throughout the reading. Lots of banjo! I liked it, but of course with audio, you miss out on the illustrations.
