it was amazing

** spoiler alert ** When our hearts and the norms of society are in conflict, which do we follow? In this compassionate and intriguing story a genius artist finds his artistic need and ambition (maybe better said "compulsions") in conflict with his culture and religious traditions. As a Mormon, though our religion is very different from the Jewish faith, I find common ground in my heart for the young artist and for his aching parents. This book left a mark on my heart that will always be there.
