First, now I know exactly why Christian organizations don't like this book.

Second, this book was enjoyable but didn't get as high a rating for me as the first book for two reasons.

1) The story wasn't as sharply defined as I like. I'm all for a cliffhanger ending sometimes, but in a novel there needs to be the satisfaction of some sort of conclusive ending and I didn't feel that here.

2) While the political and emotional conflicts are interesting and well presented, I did feel like sometimes I was being beaten over the head with the author's personal bias of "Church bad, free will good".
