"The Hypnotist" by M. J. Rose was not as good as I thought it would be. I found the parts about reincarnation to be the most compelling, and would have like to have read more about that, the regressions some of the characters went through. I didn't really feel it was written in a way that the readers would feel a connection with any of the characters; Lucian Glass was the most developed, and a likeable figure.

The story is about stolen art pieces and a reincarnation society, with hypnotists and FBI agents up against foreign people with a claim to the art, everybody scrambling around to find Memory Tools and take an ancient sculpture for their own. It's a great plot idea, it just fell a little short for me.
