did not like it

THE OWL KEEPER, by Christine Brodien-Jones, is an adventure tale that takes place in another time and place. I really wanted to read this book because the synopsis looked interesting. But for a couple reasons I could not finish it. I feel like the book was too "young" for me, I think the middle-grade genre had a lot to do with it. Also at times it was confusing. I wanted to like it but I found my mind wandering while reading.

I did enjoy the new place that Brodien-Jones created. It was imaginative and enchanting. Her idea of the new government and scientific testing was interesting, and a bit scary. I feel like the situation that these characters were dealing with could really happen. Her writing style is great and I hope I have the opportunity to read other books from her that might suit me better.
