I tracked down this book after watching a documentary called "Saved!", which is a riveting reenactment of what Nando Parrado and his rugby teammates went through after their plan crashed in the Andes in the early '70s. The book is even better than the film. Parrado is totally honest, sometimes brutally so, in describing the difficult choices that he and his teammates had to make to survive being stranded in the Andes with no radio, little food, and no shelter other than the damaged shell of their plane. If you like outdoor adventure stories, I highly recommend this book.
