it was amazing
bookshelves: childhoodfavorites

The Edie books are treasures! This just got reprinted, and I am so excited! Edie is a little spitfire of a ten-year-old, living during the early 1900's in a well-to-do family. She gets into all kinds of trouble, along with her hapless best friend, a young boy who can refuse her nothing! She has two half-siblings (her father's second wife is an elegant woman they call Madam), and I will never forget the description of the youngest one's kisses: "Kissing Lou was like eating a donut while simultaneously putting one's face into a bowl of fresh peas. None of them could quite imitate it."
