I've been slowly going through this book the last two years. It's a lot to take in so I've been reading it with a highlighter in hand. Hopefully, I'll finish it in the next two years. As a museum volunteer, it's helped me to answer questions about why certain ethnic groups died out or were easily conquered.

I also wonder if the human race is ever visited by extraterrestrial life, would the same thing happen to us? Will homo sapiens succumb because of better technology (guns), illnesses (germs) and superior use of our/their natural resources (steel).
