Julie's life is far from normal. Her mom is Rapunzel and her mom's best friend is Cinderella. The "wild" lives under her bed and if anyone makes a wish at her grandmother's wishing well, the wild will grow and overtake the town, pulling everyone into the fairytale realm. Julie doesn't know much about her mom's life before. She just knows they have to protect the wild. But when someone makes a wish, the wild escapes Julie's room and begins to spread engulfing the whole town. Julie's mom has disappeared and Julie believes that the only way she can fix what has happened is to enter the wild. The wild is a crazy place, though, were people get trapped in a fairytale story and must live that story over and over again. Can Julie save her mother and grandmother before she gets trapped into a story? This is a rollercoaster story with lots of fairytale references. The girls and women in this story are very strong characters. The ending leaves it open to a sequel and of course, there is one in the works! It's a good story but it's not great. There's a lot going on and sometimes it gets confusing. It's an interesting premise, though, for a story.
