** spoiler alert ** I really enjoyed this book. Kiki is incredibly naive and has terrible insecurities about her appearance as she lives a very comfortable life in St. Louis. She tries to fit in, but finds it difficult. However, when her husband is found dead, well, that all comes crashing down. She's left nearly indigent and gets no help at all from her rich mother-in-law. The husband left his insurance to his mom, not his wife. She has to sell nearly everything to survive.

She does get help from some friends when it comes to getting housing and a job in a scrapbook store. Thus all the scrapbooking hints throughout the novel.

There's even a little romance, a dog, and daughter.

The ending felt a bit rushed, but still, I liked the writing and the characters.
