another case of me wishing this thing has half-stars. i'm very non-comital. this is probably more of a 2.5 star book than a 2-star. i just think i'm too young to read this book. it's about dealing with dying and second weddings and your testy gay lover. i have no "text-to-self connections," as we teachers call them, to this book. also, i dispute the claim that this book is supposed to be funny. the graphic old people sex scenes and equally graphic gory scenes are distinctly un-funny, and the rest of the book is kind of a wash on the humor front. i can imagine plenty of people enjoying this book. i didn't really, though. although i did manage to plow through the last 150 pages quite quickly and wasn't too perturbed by it. a testament to the brisk pace of the ending, which was good.
