This is a graphic novel, a multi-cultural novel, and a fantasy novel.
This book is about a young boy and his struggle with identity. His cousin visits and seems to 'ruin' his life every time he comes. The cousin turns out to be an ancient monkey with a story of his own and his best friend turns out to be something else as well. This story is told in sections and not always in chronological order.
I liked this book, it shows how some immigrants can feel when the move to america--that they must conform to fit in. If they can achieve that status then they are truly american.
This book can be read by teens of all ages!
