I've always had a special place in my heart for Native American based storytelling. While the author isn't Native American, she does a fantastic job of putting the main character into the pueblo way of life.

I was instantly transported along while Jamaica Wild and her wolf, Mountain, have to determine why Jerome Santana was out in the middle of a buffalo pen - apparently drugged. The story unfolds with backstory about Jamaica, her relationship with Momma Anna (Jerome's mother), and Tecolote.

Native American mythology, way of life, and culture are expertly intertwined in this excellent work of Fiction. I enjoyed every page and recommend this to anyone who likes an intelligent mystery.
