Welcome to a world of innocence! Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry follows the journey of a naïve young prince exposed to the reality and despondency of adulthood. The prince travels to numerous planets, meeting a variety of characters, from the self-centered king, to the trapped business man who is obsessed with a fortune he does not possess. The narrator’s experience with the prince reveal the hopelessness of our society, in which we have lost ability to imagine and create. The curious prince seeks answers to simple questions and he realizes that the adults are lost in their own world. The book provides a deeper understanding of the complex nature of children and their need to be satisfied. Although he cherishes simple emotions, such as love, the Prince learns that evil such as materialism eventually consume adults, and that they soon forget about all the more meaningful experiences in life.
