The Big Lebowski meets Gravity's Rainbow. The only reason this isn't a five-star review is that Pynchon is capable of so much more. I really enjoyed this, but there's no other way to distinguish this from the overwhelming river of a read through Against the Day except to give this a three-star review and to give that one five. But this is still a great read. Recommended. And, of course, by turns hilarious, disturbing, engaging and brilliant in the writing if not the conception.
