It's nice to see that someone remembered that there are supernatural beings OTHER than vampires (gasp - say it ain't so!) but the story-telling in this book could use a little work. For example, it's probably not a great idea to suddenly let everyone know that the heroine has an unusual ability in the last ten pages of the book - especially if that ability has not even been alluded to at any other point in the story. You might as well have written, "Did I mention that she was able to move between forms? 'Cause that's kind of important." Sheesh.
