The second Prey book in a row that was underwhelming for me. Heard Sandford interviewed on the radio the other day and it sounded like the Prey series was soon to be retired. Maybe another two books. Probably a good choice, and maybe a little too late. At least it seems like his Flower's series is pretty good.

This book basically had two coinciding plot lines that intersected at strange and unbelievable spots. One plot line revolved around a gang of violent robbers who were in town to take advantage of all the money surrounding the Republican National Convention. Had he stuck to this plot line I think the book would have been good. The other plot line revolved around Davenport's soon to be adopted daughter, who at the age of 14 put together a rather ingenious plan to save a teenage hooker from disaster. 14 year old girls are not like Letty, even 14 year olds that have Letty's background steeped in street smarts and violence. It was just too far fetched, kind of like the multiple personality antagonist in his last book.

Just ok.
