Blaze of Memory is book 7 in the Psy-Changeling series and this means I finally catch up with the series and can now wait for nº 8 when it comes out, in July.

Blaze of Memory is about Devraj Santos, the leader of the Shine Foundation. Devraj has devoted his life to protect the gifted children of the Forgotten, Psys that left the Net when the Silence was imposed and that survived by mating with humans and changelings. One day he finds a badly abused female Psy on his door step. She has no memory of who she is and Dev's first reaction is to protect her but can he really trust her or was she sent to kill him? The female is Katya and she was Ashaya's assistant in Caressed by Ice...

Katya is a Psy who does not behave like one. From the beginning that she seems to have no trouble showing her emotions. She is a broken Psy and once she realises that she has lost her memory because she abused by one of the Council members she starts worrying that they have left her with Dev to bring about his destruction.

Both Katya and Dev are a bit too quickly going from distrust to love, the fact that they are both damaged made it easier to understand one another. But the story falls flat for me because they are so similar. There's the usual tension between the main couples from different species that the series has made me enjoy previously so although I did like the story it doesn't rank high. My favourite parts in fact, were when the other Psys and their mates enter the story and when the little ones cure Katya. I also did like to know more about the Forgotten, Singh certainly has been shy about introducing new possibilities to this world she created. Because of that I can't wait for the next one in the series.

Grade: 3.5/5

Lady Danielle aka The Book Huntress Hey, I'm reading it too.

Oriana Are you liking it, Ana? I confess that even if I gave the book 3.5 stars I didn't care much for the main characters... I'll be looking forward to your review.:)

Ana T. hey Danielle how are you liking it?

Alex this is my second least favourite because I disliked Mine to Possess even more. ;-)

I really hope Max's story will be a good one again.

Ana T. I'm glad it worked for you then. ;-)

Same for me! And I don't think it's a coincidence that both main characters belong to the same world. I confess that I'm not very interested in them (and I'm afraid that the same will happen with Max's story)... I'm much more eager to read Indigo's book!

Lady Danielle aka The Book Huntress I think I'm in the minority in that I prefer the Psy main characters. It's kind of weird, since I'm normally a huge shapeshifter fan.

Oriana I like the Psy but shapeshifters have to be involved somehow.:)

Ana T. I think my preference is to pair Psys with shipeshifters. Humans are my least favourites :-)
