It was amazing to be reading this history of Lincoln, election and presidency during the current campaign and election season. Obama sees Lincoln as a model - not a bad choice. If he can even come close to Lincoln's standards for honesty, common sense and ability to work with difficult people, he will be worthy of respect. This 750pg book is much easier to get through than it may seem. The size may be intimidating ut Goodwin's writing and the inherently fascinating story of Lincoln make it an easy and utterly enjoyable read. Highly recommended!
