Wow! What a fantastic conclusion to a brilliant series!! I absolutely loved every minute of these books. Last Sacrifice did not disappoint. There was a clear conclusion to many of the ongoing issues between Rose and the gang (I won't be too specific, I don't want to give anything a way here!), while still giving a sense of change and creating new and interesting plot points that will allow the overarching story of some key characters and the Morio/Dhampire people to continue in the spin-off series Mead is currently working on.

I think my favourite part of this series has been Mead's ability to allow you to feel for the characters in a way that seems natural - when Dimitri was restored to his dhampire self but turned Rose down in the previous book, I shared her pain. Similar happy and sad moments occur in this book and there is still that emotional connection to all the characters. I find it be very natural, which is weird because I'm not much for empathy with books. The style of the writing is so smooth and the tone is conversational, which makes me feel as though I know Rose and the group personally. Its not flowery or filled with adjectives and exaggerated feelings to force empathy from the reader. It is positively delightful! I was sad to finish it, not because of a bad ending but because I never wanted this series to end. The promise of spin-off has kept me going! Thanks to Richelle Mead for writing a such an enjoyable series!!

Also some great themes of love and redemption. And is it just me, isn't Abe awesome?

I'm impatiently awaiting this book.

I wonder if Last Sacrifice is referring to the fact that obviously something big/epic/dramatic is going to happen between Strigio and the Morio, but at the end of this Rose and Dimitri finally get it together and the laws of the guardians change, and the Morio learn to fight too. So it would be a last sacrifice in the sense that all their lives guardians have had to sacrifice their own personal lives, but never again...???

If Rose or Dimitri dies I will be so disappointed.
