Really good book with stupid ass ending! The particle collider machine starts an experiment which gives everyone awake a 2 minute glimpse of their future-except those who are going to be dead then who see nothing. In those 2 minutes planes crash, cars collide and people die from a number of falls causing a massive death toll and people want answers. Is their future fixed or can they change things? And who would not be tempted to run the experiment again...?
The human stories in this book were very good SPOILER AHEAD NOW! You have two people who are about to get married who see themselves in the future with different partners. Is there any point going ahead with the wedding? There is a scientist who is dead in that future 23 years from now who discovers he was murdered and sets about trying to prevent his own death. There are those who profit from a glimpse of companies doing well and stocks to invest in, seperatist movements who give up when they see that their cause has not won 23 years on...a lot of interesting things like that. Good plot, fascinating to read and think about but is spoiled by the most stupid ass ending you can imagine!
