Engaging teen-age characters in fast-paced "wagon train" western. The author was inspired to write the story while reading about the governments refusal to let Native Americans be vaccinated against smallpox.

Nancy I found the book to be very intriguing and I loved learning about the smallpox vaccine and other historical facts. I did think that the book was not appropriate for teens--especially young ones because of the content on prostitution and rape.
