Brilliant. There are a lot of other things I could type about this to describe it, but they'd end up being a keyboard mishmash of garbled love ("adaskjfaksj♥"). So I'll settle for brilliant.

The reason this is such a good book is that Fforde's humor and wit shine through in this land where fairy tale characters exist (and know they do) and the lone police department that deals with them.

The writing and characters will have you laughing out loud, but don't think of this as fluff: it's a excellent mystery, full of twists and side-plots. You'll love it even if you don't remember all your nursery rhymes; those that do will love it even more as they catch all the references and hints linking things back to those tales.
