I bought this when my flight was cancelled and it became apparent that I would need more reading material. I only had a limited selection to choose from and this, being 'chick lit', is not something I would have chosen to read under different circumstances, but I was surprised at how much I genuinely ended up enjoying it. It probably helped that I did actually read most of it while sunbathing - it's the very definition of a perfect beach book. Incredibly predictable, contrived and often completely ridiculous, but also likeable, very funny and, in the end, truly touching. Kinsella obviously knows her audience inside out and writes very well for it.
