I always enjoy reading Jane Austen's novels and this one was no exception. However, I'm giving it three stars because I found Catherine a little too gullible and naive. I know that Austen obviously set out to create a character who was innocent and inexperienced when she was writing this book (otherwise she wouldn't have emphasized it so damn much), but it was too over the top for me to be able to enjoy the story as much as I normally would have. I really couldn't decide whether I should consider Catherine a saint or an idiot. On the one hand, you can think of her as having too "pure" a heart to ever suspect the people around her of having shady motives, but at the same time her people reading skills are so pathetic (they're basically nonexistent) that you can't help but think of her as stupid at times.

As with all Jane Austen books, this one is all about True Love and Marriage. If you're fine with those types of stories, this should be an entertaining read.
